The water should go through the nasal passages if you are following instructions, nasal irrigation will help clear the nasal passages and help the inflammation, also regular use will help you maintain a healthy nasal environment. If so, can a neti pot help with that? At what point is it wise to see a doctor? I used the neti-pot last night and my congestion got worse! Maybe it's because I had 2 glasses of wine after I used it. I put warm water and less than 1/4 tsp in the pot. I used it again this afternoon and it's getting worse. I'm completely off wine now thinking this may be contributing to it. I took a Daytime Sudafed and it didn't seem to touch it. So an hour later I sprayed just a wee bit of Astelin in each nostril(a prescription that I would like to get off of) and that didn't work either. I absolutley cannot breathe through my nose.
